ACES Online for Middle School Students
This online tutoring program applies innovative teaching methods within a rich, interactive learning environment, using flash-based activities — complete with sound and animation — to teach and review concepts. All courses are based on current and confirmed research about the way secondary students think and learn.
Courses for grades 6–8 solidify students’ familiarity with core concepts while introducing them to more advanced content and setting the stage for high school study.
English/Language Arts 6-8
This interactive conversational interface engages students more deeply in the learning process by simulating a conversation with another person in a fun, casual way and offering hints and tips for mastering new skills. This program:

Math 6-8
Mathematics for grades 6–8 furthers students’ expertise in the fundamentals of geometry and algebra. The skills students learn in these activities build on the spiraled curriculum established in the K–5 lessons and prepare them for future success in algebra and higher math.
Students in these grades will further develop skills in:
- Manipulating complex fractions
- Solving multistep equations and inequalities
- Completing real-world computation
- Calculating using decimals
- Working with distance, rate, and time
- Solving pre-algebraic equations with and without variables

Science 6-8
Science for middle school grades gives students an interactive and engaging way to build scientific core knowledge and tie academic content to real-world exploration and application. This program will supplements existing curriculum with engaging activities in physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science; addresses science theory, principles, concepts, and real-world applications; and teaches students how to gather, organize, and interpret data.

Social Studies 6-8
Our social studies programs for grades 6–8 increase student comprehension of key concepts with interactive maps, charts, graphs, quotations, and dialogue. They give students supplemental opportunities to study topics such as world history, U.S. history, government, culture, geography, economics, and current events.
